School Information
Message from the Principal
Welcome to Karuizawa International Japanese Language School. I have been involved in Japanese language education both overseas and domestically in Japan. Our school is not only a place to learn Japanese, but also a place that encourages self-understanding and growth. Through learning here, we strive to help all of you cultivate rich humanity and acquire the ability to achieve self-fulfillment in a diverse society.
We aim to develop not only the ability to express your thoughts and emotions richly using Japanese and communicate smoothly with others, but also to learn about Japanese culture, customs, and social backgrounds, and cultivate a mind that respects cultures, values, and ways of thinking different from your own. The education we aim for is to broaden your future.

Characteristics & Strengths

Breath of Nature
The Higashi-Shinshu region of Nagano Prefecture is an environment where urban life and nature coexist harmoniously, and the beautiful scenery of the four seasons and rich nature brings inspiration to students' daily lives. Cherry blossoms and edible wild plants in spring, cool clear blue skies in summer, autumn foliage, winter snow scenes and starry skies — all let students' hearts rich.

The Delight of 'I Can Use It!'
A feature of our school is cultivating not only knowledge of Japanese, but also practical Japanese language skills needed for daily life and after advancing to the next level. In addition to improving five language activities, we emphasize community contribution and practical communication. Through events and volunteer work, students practice Japanese and learn about culture.

Convenient Access and Fulfilling Life
Access from the Higashi-Shinshu region of Nagano Prefecture to Tokyo is convenient, approximately 90 minutes by Shinkansen. The living environment is also well-equipped, with fully furnished student dormitories, low cost of living, and good public safety. There are large supermarkets, hospitals, and convenience stores nearby, allowing for a comfortable study abroad life.
